Rules Q&A
- Q: I'm having a hard time finding the usefulness of the trait:
Since most reactions are taken during targeting/announcement..can you guys cite some EE-legal reactions this would affect. Is feign death one of them?
Thanks.
A: The Thunder Dragon is considered to be "performing" an action once it's chosen as a performer. Therefore anything that reacts to targeting (Ryoshun's Guidance), or resolution (Improper Papers) would be affected. The few Reactions that are not are those taken in response to an action's announcement, or after the action ends. Jon Palmer, "Thunder Dragon XP2", 15 Apr 2013 - Q: Greetings! Player A uses thunder dragon and his Kohaki (random non-human) to perform oblivious on my fragile courtier at home. Now, thunder dragon says that when he is chosen to perform actions, other players may not take reactions. I, however, want to play a reaction upon the announcement of the action .. Bad Kharma. Can you confirm that this is indeed legal since no performers have been chosen yet when he has announced the action?

A: Yes, and for the same reason. Despite the fact that you "know" the Thunder Dragon will be performing, you haven't reached Step B of the timing procedure, which is when it "performs" the action, and therefore the Thunder Dragon's restriction isn't in effect yet. Jon Palmer, "Thunder Dragon xp2 + Bad Kharma", 21 Feb 2013 - Q: I have a question on how some of new text words work on. I played a mantis clan today. He played a new card (person card) Thunder Dragon. Can her text work out of the battle. If so she on mean card to mess with. thanks
A: Yes, all of the Thunder Dragon's text is active at all times while she's in play. The ability she grants to Mantis Personalities is just a "Battle" ability, though. Brook Cunningham, "Oracle of the Void #rules", 19 Mar 2023
