Rules Q&A
- Q: If i attach blade of slaughter to one of my unicorn personalities and then prevent them from becoming dishonored with Ide Tang's reaction, does the blade gain +2/+2.
A: No. You must make a transition from dishonored to honorable. Zen Faulkes, "Rules for 14 December 2003", 14 Dec 2003 - Q: Can I attach a Blade of Slaughter to Akodo Shusaku ?
A: Yes. Zen Faulkes, "Rules for 4 December 2003", 5 Dec 2003 - Q: If you bring Blade of Slaughter back into play from your discard pile does its Dishonoring the personality happen again?
A: Yes. Zen Faulkes, "Rules for 17 November 2003", 18 Nov 2003 - Q: what about other cards like Blade of Slaughter given with The Anvil's Blessing? If you accept it, their personality receives the effect, correct? So their personality would be dishonored?

Blade: Dishonor this Personality after playing Blade of Slaughter. The next time this Personality becomes honorable, the Blade permanently gains +2F/+2C, and this Personality may not become dishonored while this Blade remains attached. Force +0
Ide tang: Political Reaction: Bow Tang before one of your Personalities is dishonored to negate the dishonoring.
A: The Personality will not be dishonored from attaching the Blade, but he now must become dishonored by some separate source and then restored before the Blade's bonuses happen. Jeff Alexander, "post for 19 May 2003", 21 May 2003 - Q: This brings up a question I have, though. A combo I saw with this: Iuchi Yue (elemental wind open: move one item from one of your unbowed personalities to another once per turn.), Blade of Slaughter, and two of Ikoma Goro. Play the Blade of Slaughter on one Goro, dishonoring him. Bow and dishonor the other Goro to re-honor the first one, and the blade gets its bonus. Next turn, straighten the second one, then have Yue move the sword to him. He's dishonored at the moment, so the other Goro may bow and dishonor to restore him to honorable status. The thing I'm not sure works here is: would the sword gain the bonus multiple times? I think it would, but I'm not sure. By the wording on the card it might be the case that the Blade can only gain the bonus once per dishonored person it's attached to, or it might be once each time it is attached to a dishonored person, even if it was attached to this person before. Or, it might be that it is only the first time it happens while the sword is attached to someone, in which case my combo would be fruitless and I can ditch it for better cards.
A: The Blade gains a permanent +2/+2 the very first time the Personality it's on changes from dishonored to honorable following the attachment of the Blade. It is possible for the Blade to gain multiple +2/+2 bonuses if it is moved from Personality to Personality. The "this Personality may not be dishonored" effect ends each time the Blade leaves a Personality, though. [card text] Jeff Alexander, "post for 19 May 2003", 21 May 2003
