Rules Q&A
- Q: If I have Ring of Earth in play and want to use Cavalry Escort to recruit Jikoji, Fist of Stone, how much gold do I pay?
A: You ignore his gold cost, which per Cavalry Escort is his normal cost plus five. So zero gold. Jon Palmer, "Cavalry Escort and "ignoring Gold Cost"", 19 Jul 2014
