Rules Q&A
- Q: Hi
I did not find the answer to this, sorry if its a re-post anyway. The card in question is Chaos of Battle:
Battle: Give one or two target opposed Personalities a Force bonus equal to the number of different Clan alignments on Personalities at the current battlefield.
The 8 personalities from coils of madness have two clan alignments. Please confirm that, if I have for example: Usagi Seki (Dragon Clan and Hare Clan) and Tochiko (Mantis Clan and Boar clan) facing Komori Miyano (Unicorn Clan and Bat Clan) on the other side, can I boost their Force by 6 each?
A: Generally, no.
Effects that look for Clan alignments such as this one look for one of the nine legal Clan alignments - Crab, Crane, Dragon, Lion, Mantis, Phoenix, Scorpion, Spider, Unicorn. In Legacy or Big Deck formats, if one of the players is using Shiro Usagi, then Usagi Seki would have two Clan alignments. Jon Palmer, "Chaos of Battle and Coils of Madness Personalities", 2 Oct 2014 - Q: Hello everyone. So if I use Chaos of battle with my personalities being Scorpion and Phoenix and my opponent is using Spider can I give +3F to 2 personalities? Thank you for your time.
A: Yes, that's exactly right.
