Rules Q&A
- Q: Ensorcelled Longsword
I have a question about how this ability would work on the following situations which require the player to discard a card:
Tatical Advantage: can you keep discard the Longsword for Tatical Advantage and immediately get it back from the discard pile. In other words, can you use one Longsword to boost your entire army of Taticians?
Versatile Blade: can you discard the Longsword and immediately return it to your hand in order to use the battle abilities of Versatile Blade.
Eternal armor: the same, can you discard the Longword and get it back in order to prevent the Battle action to be negated.
In conclusion, can I continuously keep discarding the Longsword and getting it back to pay for discard effects?
A: No, sorry, you can't.
It only comes back to you hand if you discard it "from play", not from your hand. Brook Cunningham, "Ensorcelled Longsword + Discard Effects", 1 Oct 2015
