Rules Q&A
- Q: I just was looking at getting a little more clarification on this one: http://www.alderac.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=59&t=106638.
If Sailor's Warning becomes a home battle action, and is thus taken from home, and the same shugenja (at home) has Steal the Candle's Flame (at home) then why does this not meet the requirements of presence and location?
A: The ruling in the other thread was about the modification of the Spell by Rae Sensei: "Actions on your Spells have Home if you target your Samurai with them."
Sailor's Warning has you target your Personality before producing the Ranged Attack effect, therefore it can be used from Home with Rae Sensei.
Steal the Candle's Flame does not do the same thing (it only produces the Ranged Attack), and therefore cannot be made from Home with Rae Sensei.
Hope that helps! Ben Higgins, "Rae Sensei+Sailor's Warning+Steal the Candle's Flame More", 28 Jan 2014
