Rules Q&A
- Q: The kata card Respect, from Aftermath, mentions paying 2 more gold if a personality's HR is lower than the player's current family honor. Is this now a moot trait for Ivory Edition, since you always must meet HR to Recruit a personality, or does it allow you to Recruit for 2 more gold?
A: Neither, actually.
It's a Kata for a player who has caused his opponent Honor losses. After doing so, per the Rules, his opponent ignores Personalities' HRs. However, the Kata will force that opponent to pay 2 extra Gold for such Personalities, should he not be meeting their HR. Question: the effect of the strategy "Respect", Is for the both player?
A: Since Respect does not specify "your" or "another player's" Personality, it applies to all Personalities, regardless of who is Recruiting them. Ben Higgins, "Respect; Kata • Political • Kharmic", 19 Jan 2014
