Rules Q&A
- Q: Two Steady Breaths has Discipline 2 and a normal cost of 1. So If I pay the Discipline cost do I also have to pay the normal cost as well?
I think so as Discipline simply lets you play the card again from the discard. So if it is true then do I pay each cost separately? (ie pay 2 lose excess gold, pay 1 loss excess gold.) Or can I simply pay 3 gold once?
Also does the Discipline cost count as paying for an action for Luxurious silk?
A: As stated on the Aftermath Rules Sheet, "you may play a card with the Discipline keyword from your discard pile for on of the it's actions, paying the Gold cost in the Icon as an additional cost of the action (or adding the Gold cost to the action's if it already has a Gold cost)."
As such, when you announce Two Steady Breaths' action from the discard pile, it then becomes, "Limited, (3): Give your target face-up Personality out of play Destined. (Draw a card after your Destined card enters play.)"
You would pay a single Gold cost of 3, and yes Luxurious Silk can produce Gold for the cost. Ben Higgins, "Two Steady Breaths", 9 Dec 2013
