Rules Q&A
- Q: Transfering a spell from one Shugenja to another with Jungle Stockade will satisfy the requirement of attaching a spell for Broken Cipher, correct?
Transfering from the EE Comprehensive Rules:
Broken Cipher:
Jungle Stockade
A: Looks like a winner. Transferring will satisfy the conditions of Broken Cipher. Jon Palmer, "Jungle Stockade and Broken Cipher", 12 Nov 2012 - Q: Similar scenario,Scorpion Wall has resolved and in a my action phase I play 1 Sincerity of the Dragon naming a 4 and then play a second Sincerity of the Dragon naming a 1. I draw one card and have a lingering effect that will draw me a card. I now proceed to the attack phase and play Broken Cipher and draw 2 cards. Can I draw the card from the second Sincerity of the Dragon? Or do I have to play another action that will put cards into my hand to meet the condition of the Scorpion Wall is Finished?
A: The cards have to have "put cards in his hand in one phase"; it's the putting of cards in hand that cares about the phase, not when the actions resolved. So, you would draw from the Cipher, and you would draw from the second delayed Sincerity, then you would be prohibited from putting cards in your hand the rest of the Attack Phase.
