So if my opponent only has lets say a 4 chi guy as the only available target, and I flip a 3, what happens?
Along with, how does this affect with the "good faith rule"? If my opponent has a 6 chi guy and I know I have no way to get the FV to be equal to or greater than 6, what happens?
Last question, what if my Ariyoshi is unopposed? May I use his ability as targeting comes after the card is revealed?
A: If there are no legal targets after the flip, the targeting fails, and the rest of the effect ends.
There's no requirement that you "know" the facedown contents of your deck, so if you just want to do the flip even when the metagame knows you can't hit anything (such as the 6C Personality), you're still able to use it. Jon Palmer, "Kakita Ariyoshi and no (legal) targets.", 17 Mar 2015
