- Q: Can a samurai (or courtier) commit seppuku in response to the 7 honor loss from Broken Words before they die when they lose a fatal duel?
A: Yes. You technically lose the duel before any consequences of losing happen, just like you lose the battle before your army is destroyed. Losing / winning happens on comparing final stat totals. At that point, the honor loss becomes unconditional and you can commit seppuku before any further effects resolve (like losing 7 honor).
