Rules Q&A
- Q: My opponent Fear Attacks my item, interrupting with Show of Power.
I want to interrupt the Fear action with Diligent Care.
Does it stop my item being destroyed?
A: It would return the item to your hand. Another player's action's effects are destroying the item. Jon Palmer, "Diligent Care vs Show of Power", 1 May 2015 - Q: Show of Power's Interrupt allows a Fear to target Items and destroys attachments after they bow. With the new window for Interrupts in 20F, which is after targeting, how does this work if I want to target an Item?
A: When you pick the target of Fear action (in step C of the Action Sequence), if you have an unbowed Show of Power in play, you may choose an Item as the target. However, as described under Choice Paradoxes, you must then use the Show of Power Interrupt.
If you fail to do so (ie because some effect prevents you; you do not have a choice not to take the action), or Show of Power is negated, your choice of target is illegal, and your Fear action fails. Alex Jones, "Show of Power and Interrupt Changes", 12 Mar 2015
