Rules Q&A
- Q: Having some conflict resolving the cost of Your True Nature.
To me it reads that item destruction costs 3 additional gold. Not a discount. If this is in error could you explain the wording/text format so I understand?
A: Your True Nature reads: Battle/Open (*): Destroy a target attachment with Gold Cost less than or equal to the amount paid, or the amount paid plus three if the target is an Item.
If you're targeting an item, this is effectively: Battle/Open (*): Target an Item with Gold Cost less than or equal to the amount paid plus three. Destroy it.
If you pay 2 gold, then "the amount paid plus three" is 5 gold, so you can destroy an Item costing 5g or less. Alex Jones, "Your true nature cost", 3 Jun 2015 - Q: Player A attaches an item with a Gold Cost of 3 and pays the 1g invest on it. Player B wants to play Your True Nature to destroy it, getting a 3g discount because the target is an item. Does he destroy it for free because the printed Gold Cost of the Item is 3, or does he need to pay 1g because it was invested?
A: The Item's gold cost is 4g after Investing, so Player B must pay 1g for Your True Nature. Alex Jones, "Invest and Attachment destruction", 28 Oct 2014
