Rules Q&A

• Q: I'm pretty sure that you can't do the following but I just wanted to know the official ruling:
If you were to attach Assault Unit during battle, to a personality with a Fear battle action (Let's say Diagotsu Roburo), can you combine the 2 to make a Fear 7?
Assault Unit: Interrupt: After the action Equips this Follower at a battlefield, Fear 3 Diagotsu Roburo: Fear 4
  Cheers!
And thanks for all your hard work!
A: In order to increase Fears, you have to Interrupt them, and you can't Interrupt Interrupts, so indeed, you can't do that.
You're also quite welcome, thanks. Brook Cunningham, "Assault Unit + Fear Action", 17 Sep 2014
• Q: Can the Fear effect created by Assault Unit be Interrupted, either to boost or negate it? As the Fear is created as a result of an Interrupt and not the reserve recruit action I'm not clear if it is possible to Interrupt and modify the Fear.
  Thanks in advance
A: No, you can't Interrupt an Interrupt, so Assault Unit's Fear can't be modified with an Interrupt. Brook Cunningham, "Assault Unit & Interrupt", 8 Jul 2014
• Q: Are you able to use Courage against the fear effect caused by Assault Unit?
I know you can’t interrupt an interrupt, but could you courage in response to recruiting the assault unit?
A: If you Interrupt the Reserve with Courage, it will do nothing. It only affects the action it's interrupting. Brook Cunningham, "Onyx Lives #rules-questions", 6 Dec 2023
