Rules Q&A
- Q: Iaijutsu Battle: Oneiyara challenges a target enemy Personality. After the duel, Fear equal to Oneiyara's Force that targets the loser.
If you wanted to react with Okura Released to Oneiyara's Fear effect, you would have to play the interrupt after the battle action was declared targets were chosen and before the duel?
If so and you lost your own Okura is released would cause your Oneiyara to be destroyed correct?
Also Oneiyara's Force in the above is a self referenstial statement so If I steal the ability with Kenaro xp from Inspired Leadership it would refer to Kenaro's force?
Timing wise would Kenaro gain the +1f for winning the duel from his trait before the fear effect occurred?
Pretty sure I know most of these just double checking
A: All answers are yes. Jon Palmer, "Oneiyara - timing", 4 May 2015 - Q: Based on your explanation of the card Again!, would it be safe to assume that the ability copied by Inspired leadership not also work noting that it also took the tag from A New alliance. After all, "his weapons" on your explanation is still like "the abilities on two target fate/dynasty cards cannot be used" pertaining directly to the abilities on the card, and not the card itself.
Inspired Leadership Invest , or if the first target is a Tactician: Take an additional action (after this one resolves). Battle: Target your Personality and another Personality. Give your Personality +1F and he copies an ability on the second target which does not copy abilities.
A New Alliance A New Alliance Invest : Draw a card. (Increase the Gold Cost by the Invest cost to get the effect, once.) Political Open: The abilities on two target Dynasty or Fate cards (in play) cannot be used.
(if im not perfectly clear, I mean to say ask that would the abilities now also inherit the "cannot be used this turn" tag given by the A new alliance despite the fact they gain these said abilities. In short, would the "cannot be used this turn" tag on them be carried over to any card that copies them during the turn its played.
Im curious since we had that particular situation today.
PS: I do think there is something definitely hard to grasp on the working of the card Again!. It does say his weapons, and it does seem to pertain to the personality and not to the weapons themselves.
A: A New Alliance does not add a "this ability may not be used" sentence to the end of the ability it affects. If you copy the ability, the new ability (which is new, otherwise Once Per Turn would apply to it) will not be stopped by A New Alliance. Jon Palmer, "A new alliance + created abilities (ie come one at a time ) follow up", 5 Mar 2015 - Q: Hello, I had a quick question about this potential interaction
A) I have Keppo and another Personality with a battle action (Let's say Daigotsu Atsushi) at the battle. B) I play Inspired Leadership and have Atsushi copy Keppo's Interrupt. I take an additional action C) I use Atsushi's Fear 2
My question is can I use the copied interrupt as well to attach an item from my opponent's discard pile? My reasoning is that in post arcs that I played in, when abilities were copied, we almost always substituted the name of the copied with the copier. In this instance, I would imagine that on the copied interrupt, Keppo would be replaced with Daigotsu Atsushi.
Cheers!
Keppo Interrupt, *gold : If the action Recruits Keppo or is his printed Battle action, after it resolves, Equip a target attachment from another player's discard pile to him. Battle: Destroy a target enemy attachment with 4 Gold Cost or less.
Inspired Leadership Battle: Target your Personality and another Personality. Give your Personality +1F and he copies an ability on the second target which does not copy abilities.
Daigotsu Atsushi Battle: Fear 2
A: Yes, for the reason you describe - the References rules have not changed in this respect. Alex Jones, "Keppo + Inspired Leadership", 17 Feb 2015
