Rules Q&A
- Q: I know I should know the answer to this but my brain is blanking at me.
1K Year Rivalry not in play Limited: Duel their guy. Play 1k Year Rivalry Limited: Duel their guy
It's the second duel of the turn, but the first initiated since playing the kata. Do I gain the Force/bonus honour or not?
A: It's not the first this turn, so you don't gain the honour/token.
Note that Explored Territory has received related technical errata. Alex Jones, "Thousand Year Rivalry - "First"", 26 Aug 2015 - Q: Just need official clarification for what happens in this situation:
First action of my turn, with NO Thousand Year Rivalry in play, I Demonstrating Technique, and win the duel.
2nd action of my turn, I play a 1k Rivalry.
3rd action of my turn, I Demonstrating Technique, and win the duel.
Does 1k Rivalry work for the duel in my 3rd action?
A: Thousand Year Rivalry will not trigger on your third action, as it is not the first time this turn your Personality has won a duel. Jon Palmer, "Thousand Year Rivalry", 3 Jul 2014 - Q: Does he get the token before or after the fear effect checks his force?
A: He gets the token before he makes the fear.
The point at which a winner is determined in a duel (when the token is given) is before the entire duel ends (when the Fear effect is created). Brook Cunningham, "Oneiyrara + Thousand Year Rivalry", 7 Jun 2014
