Rulings
- Erratum: Reads, "Bushi Dojo 3G Bow the Bushi Dojo to produce 6 Gold when paying for a Follower or an action that creates a Follower token." [MRP, A Perfect Cut, 4 September 2001] Rules Archive, August 18, 2007, p. 79
- Q: Can I pay for a Farmlands token with a Bushi Dojo? It's a Follower, and Bushi Dojo produces Gold "when paying for a Follower." A: No. You're not paying the Gold cost of a Follower; you're paying the Gold cost of Farmlands' Limited action. The token Follower's own cost is 0 by the Unwritten Number rule. The Imperial Herald, Issue 17, p. 40
Rules Q&A
- Q: A question came up in a game the other night re Moneylender and Bushi Dojo:
Moneylender: You may pay any amount of Gold when paying for Moneylender. Put one Coin Token on it when it enters play for each Gold paid. Bow Moneylender and remove any number of Coin tokens from it to produce an equal amount of Gold. Limited: Bow Moneylender and pay any amount of Gold to add one Coin token to it for each Gold paid.
Bushi Dojo: Bow the Bushi Dojo to produce 6 Gold when paying for a Follower or an action that creates a Follower token.
So can one use the Bushi Dojo to produce 6 coin tokens for Moneylender? We allowed it for the sake of friendly play, but on reflection, it seems that the BD produces gold only "when paying for a follower or action creating a follower token" and this combo shouldn't work.
A: This seems crystal-clear to me. Moneylender itself is a Holding, not a Follower, and its action does not create Follower tokens. The Bushi Dojo can't pay to recharge it. Bushi Dojo now aids Out of the Shadows and Peasant Levies. True?
A: True. Jeff Alexander, "replies to 1-2 July", 5 Jul 2001 - Q: Can I use Bushi Dojo to pay the 1 gold for a Refugees token?
A: No, as you are not paying for an action. Jeff Alexander, "replies to 1-2 July", 5 Jul 2001
