Rules Q&A
- Q: If Obsidian Ascension is in play can I discard it as a Courage interrupt to give a Fear effect +2 or -2 strength? Courage Repeatable Interrupt: Discard a Courage card to give a Fear effect +2 or -2 strength.
And also Obsidian Ascension says that "Open: Bow your target unbowed Personalities and Followers with 5 or more total Force to discard an Obsidian Ascension, putting any cards under it into their owner's hand." Does it mean to say a player must bow at least 1 personality and follower to get his weapons back?
Also about Nezumi Remnants, according to this ruling http://www.alderac.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=59&t=110487&p=1443391&hilit=Fear+targeting#p1443391. Can I target and fear 2 a bowed 9F peep to automatically destroy it?
Edit: Changed subject line - Palmer
A: Per the CR, unless otherwise noted "discard" is short for "discard from hand". So you may not discard Obsidian Ascension from play for its Courage effect.
A player may bow either a Personality, a Follower, or any combination of both as long as the total force is 5. They're not forced to bow both a Personality and Follower.
In general please try to keep questions to one card per thread (it makes searching easier, and also allows the subjects to be referenced).
For Nezumi Remnants, if you target a card with greater than 2 force, it will fail to bow the card due to the rules for Fear. Therefore the destruction clause will not activate. Jon Palmer, "Obsidian Ascension & Nezumi Remnants", 19 Jan 2015
