Rules Q&A
- Q: So i'm pretty sure i know the answer to this already but i'm looking for clarification.
So feign death removes anything attached to a card when it dies like tokens, but could someone feign death when i play spinning the web even if it doesn't kill them right away?
Player A has personality with 3C Player B plays spinning the web Player A plays feign death. Player B uses Shosuro Sadao's ability to generate a token trigger spinning the web making another token killing the personality.
OR
Player A has 3C personality Player B plays spinning the web Player A plays feign death. Player B plays a Duel and interrupts with Aroru sensei wins duel gives personality 2 tokens killing them.
so would feign death work in such situations since they interrupted an effect that is ongoing that eventually kills the personality? My initial gut answer is no do to the delayed effect thing that happens.
A: Feign Death's delayed effect only triggers if the action it Interrupts destroys the Personality. If a later action destroys him, Feign Death will have no effect. Jon Palmer, "Spinning the Web and Feign Death", 7 Jun 2015 - Q: Hi,
Spinning the Web has the following text:
We have trouble understanding exactly when you need to bow a ninja: Only once, when Spinning the Web is played, and then the targeted personality will lose a poison token each time it will have been targeted by a Ninja action,Each time the targeted personality is targeted by a ninja action, and the ninja must be bowed when the Ninja action is announced,Each time the targeted personality is targeted by a ninja action, and the ninja must be bowed after the Ninja action resolves, just before giving an additional poison token Thnaks !
A: The first one. Bowing the ninja once sets up the effect that will trigger with each future Ninja action. Jon Palmer, "How does Spinning the Web work?", 27 Mar 2015 - Q: Does the use of "again" instead of "an additional time" for the line "Straighten your Sensei; you may use its abilities again this turn." on Spinning the Web require that you have already used the ability that turn to get a second usage?
A: In order to use its abilities "again", you must have used them once already when you play Spinning the Web. It won't prevent you from using the ability a first time as normal, however. Jon Palmer, "Spinning the Web & "again" vs "additional"", 5 Mar 2015 - Q: I have a question about Spinning the Web. Is that additional poison tokens counts for ninja actions that targeted the personality TILL Spinning the Web was played or every next ninja action played AFTER Spinning the Web, gives the target additional poison token?
A: After only. Brook Cunningham, "Onyx Lives #rules-questions", 23 Feb 2026
