Rules Q&A
- Q: Simple question: Are you obliged to find a ring to put into play at the start of a game (while having a non-Void ring in there)? I ask because of Walking with the Earth and wanting to force a specific opponent to attack.
Thank you!
A: You may choose to fail to find a Ring when you search. Alex Jones, "Fortified Monastery of the Dragon and finding a Ring", 15 May 2015 - Q: Hey,
Just to be clear: if the number of Rings I have in play changes AFTER I play Walking with the Earth, does the PS bonus change to reflect this?
Edit: if I have one Ring out when I play it, I my provinces get +2. If, during a battle, I drop another Ring, would the bonus become +4?
A: Walking With the Earth creates an instantaneous effect giving your provinces a strength bonus. It's set by the number of Rings in play when played.
If it was going to be a continuous effect it'd be worded along the lines of "Until the end of the turn, your provinces have a bonus to their strength equal to the number of rings you (currently) have in play." Jon Palmer, "Walking With the Earth+Rings", 5 Mar 2015
