Rules Q&A
- Q: Howdy Rules Team! Thanks for being awesome!
Quick Question:
If I have Yodo Sensei and purchase Small-time Bully, which dishonors an enemy personality, do I gain 1 honor?
Cheers!
Small-Time Bully: After you Recruit this Holding, if you control a Courtier or Magistrate, you may dishonor a Personality.
Yodo Sensei: After your action dishonors another player's Personality, gain 1 Honor.
A: I feel like I should warn you for editorializing, but thanks for the compliment
Small-Time Bully's dishonoring comes from a trait, not an action. Therefore it will not trigger Yodo Sensei (yes, this disappointed me too) Jon Palmer, "Yodo Sensei and Small-Time Bullying", 8 May 2015 - Q: Yodo Sensei says,
"Your Stronghold has no abilities." "After your action dishonors another player's Personality, gain 1 Honor."
The going-second side of Fortified Monastery of the Dragon says,
"After all players reveal Strongholds, search your Fate deck for a non-Void Ring, and put it into play; Sensei effects that remove abilities also remove this trait." "You start with 1 additional card in hand and have +1 maximum hand size."
Does Yodo Sensei's 'Your stronghold has no abilities' trait apply to the 'You start with 1 additional card in hand and have +1 maximum hand size' trait on the going-second side of the stronghold?
A: Yodo Sensei's removal of abilities will only remove the trait that lets you start with a Ring (per the wording on the trait), it will not remove the extra card and hand size for going second. Jon Palmer, "Yodo Sensei & Removing "Going Second" Trait", 2 May 2015
