Rules Q&A
- Q: Confounding Departure "Battle, 1: Bow a target enemy card; if the target has any attachments, they must be bowed."
Is the word "bowed" a verb or an adjective? In other words... 1) Am I required to target attachments if the personality has any (whether bowed or unbowed)? or 2) If I target a personality with attachments, then must the attachments already be in a bowed state? or 3) Something else.
I guess part of the confusion is that this card doesn't appear to follow the usual wording for either 1 or 2 above. (Why not say "target a card without attachments" for number 1 or "without unbowed attachments" for 2?)
Thanks,
A: In this context, it's an adjective.
The text is equivalent to, "Bow a target enemy card without unbowed attachments." Alex Jones, "Confounding Departure", 22 Jul 2015
