Rules Q&A
- Q: Black bugged Radiant Bay is for Onyx, white bugged is for Shattered Empire. With ShE being the current format, the 16 Holding requirement was removed
A: Despite a player grabbing the wrong pic, the ShE Radiant Bay pic in Oracle also has the 16 Holdings restriction. That's something @Jeff Williamson will need to fix. Brook Cunningham, "Sun and Moon #rules-questions", 31 Dec 2025 - Q: I understand only Radiant Bay (as far as ShE legality goes) has that limitation while the actual Legacy rules don't make any mention to that:
"Dynasty: Remove a card in your hand from the game to search your deck and Provinces for a Legacy card. Put it face up in one of your Provinces, discarding the card there. If you fail to find a Legacy card, you lose the game."
A: If the card doesn't mention the limitation specifically, one doesn't apply. The text on FL/RB isn't reminder text, but a card effect applied to your deck construction by including the specific card(s). Jeff Williamson, "Onyx Lives #rules-questions", 3 Jun 2024 - Q: Another question(s):
(Just to clarify, am i allow to peak at my prov. for a Legacy card BEFORE searching my deck? Or do i must Search my Deck FIRST?)
(Just to clarify, do i announce the Legacy card im searching for, Then search Deck, THEN PROV.s for the legacy card i announced? Thus ignoring other legacy cards i may have found?)
If i find [Radiant Bay] Facedown in my Prov. (prov. A), per card text/ Onyx rules, am i allowed to "remove it from its prov., put it face-up IN A DIFFERENT PROV. (non-A-Prov.), discarding a card there"?
A: 1. If effects don't explicitly happen at the same time or in another specified order, then they implicitly happen in the order written, so deck searching would happen first. 2. I see no reason you couldn't choose to toss the found in Province A card into a non-A Province. Brook Cunningham, "Onyx Lives #rules-questions", 4 Jan 2024
