Rules Q&A
- Q: Hi @Brook Cunningham, pursuant to what we were talking about before, so people can see this: Does the action need to have a Fear effect to use the rulebook Courage Interrupt? And more specifically, if I'm playing with Masatari Sensei, could ANY action be Interrupted with the Courage ability, allowing me to bring Levied Refugees into play once per turn if they're in my discard?
A: Technically, yes. The Courage Interrupt is worded in such a way you can Interrupt any action with it (that I've tried to avoid in Onyx-forward Interrupt and Response wordings, now that I'm getting more of a handle on what was essentially a new mechanic designed and maintained by committee before), even ones that don't have a Fear effect in them to modify. A: All targeting in an action is required targeting, unless it is "may", delayed, or opponent's choice. Also, what would even happen if you didn't target the Follower?
