Rules Q&A
- Q: {ShE} Embrace the mountain. Is the targeting of your unbowed shugenja or a monk a "cost".? If you do not have an unbowed shugenja or monk can you still play this card?
A: It's not a cost, it's required targeting. You must have an unbowed Monk or Shugenja to target to legally announce the action, and it will then bow them. However, if you somehow prevent just the bowing effect, the rest will still happen. Brook Cunningham, "Sun and Moon #rules-questions", 21 Dec 2025
