- Q: ShE-Retreating Salvo. If he ring of earths to stop my movement, does entire ability just fizzle and I dont get a range 3? Way I was playing it before, the bowing AND movement of my personality had to be negated to stop the ranged 3?
A: Yeah, both the things before "to" have to happen in order for the thing after "to" to happen. So, if either the bowing or movement don't happen, neither will the RA3. And just to clarify the interaction between Retreating Salvo and Hideyo sensei, does the movement of Salvo occur before the RA so i can apply the -2F of Hideyo? Hideyo is "after your personality moves" so thats why i doubt
A: Yes. The effects of the card occur in the order written. Also note that the "to" means that your Personality has to both bow and move or else the RA effect doesn't even happen at all, so they would have to occur before it.
(Replying to a player: "Follow up question, if I negate the RA with Flame's Protection, the enemy personality returns to the battlefield? Or they stay at home since the movement was done first and the spell only negated the RA?") FP negates all the action's effects before they happen. The Salvo Personality never bows and never leaves.

Some are just conditional upon others happening first.
