Rules Q&A
- Q: Say I'm playing Kayo Sensei (Tireless Response: dishonor a guy if one of my Expendable personalities dies) and an attacker kills my Expendable defender as part of battle resolution:
Do they gain the honor from the destruction and then I play the response to Dishonor? Likewise if the attacker is dishonorable: do they rehonor and then I play the response and dishonor them back?
A: I'm not looking at the card right now, but if it's a Response, you can only Respond to an action, so it has to be an action that killed your guy, not battle resolution.
(Replying to a player: "Makes sense, thank you. Then I'll rephrase the question: say the opponent plays a (made-up) Strategy that says "Destroy a personality and gain 1 honor". I understand the Response step comes after that action resolves completely so they'll gain honor (or rehonor) and then I can Respond with Kayo …") Right.
