Q: ShE Rules: Consumed by darkness, and dangei, can I recruit for 1 less? or because its an action I cant?
A: You can, as long as they have a Clan Alignment that isn't yours.
(Replying to a player: "[she] Since the [consumed] target isn't "yours" does one need to meet HRs to recruit?") Yes. Brook Cunningham, "Sun and Moon #rules-questions", 15 Oct 2025
Q: Clarification- Consumed by Darkness.
Does the personality gain shadowlands during recruiting or after it is in play? Looking at the interaction with Honored Sensei
A: Ah, clever. Yes, you could pay for them with 3G from Honored Sensei. Effects happen in the order written, so first the Consumed granted ability Recruits, and then it gives Shadowlands. Simultaneous effects will be clearly explicitly so, not just linked by "and". Brook Cunningham, "Sun and Moon #rules-questions", 8 Mar 2024
Q: Consumed by Darkness does not overcome HR, right?
A: Correct. Brook Cunningham, "Sun and Moon #rules-questions", 20 Feb 2024
Q: Consumed by Darkness, can you choose to target a card that is already face-up?
A: Yep. Brook Cunningham, "Sun and Moon #rules-questions", 13 Feb 2024
Q: can consumed by darkness target an already face up personality?
A: helps to include the set (RtR) so it can be looked up as written, probably; it doesn't specify "face-down" as part of the targeting Jeff Williamson, "Sun and Moon #rules-questions", 13 Aug 2023
