Rules Q&A
- Q: Especially since Chuda Agent/Bayushi Kamnan XP cannot give themselves -2C if they have 1 chi. If the perp doesn't survive the cost, and that cancels the cost being paid, I can see that.
A: Not so much cancels the cost. The cost isn't paid. The Chi stat didn't go down a full two points in the end. A stat-floor was imposed on it. The net result wasn't sufficient to pay the cost. Martin Lund, "Rules for 16 and 17 April 2004", 18 Apr 2004 - Q: The question came up today about Chuda Agent.
The limit of setting it back to zero happens after the penalty gets applied, so can you: 1) Attempt to use chuda agent to produce gold. 2) start paying costs with a 1 chi personality. 3) The personality goes to -1 chi 4) The chi value gets limited to 0 chi 5) the gold production fizzles since the reduction wasn't 2 chi and didn't provide the full cost of the Chuda Agent (but the person still dies because costs can't be repaid)
A: I would say that you can't deliberately try and fail to pay the cost with someone who doesn't have enough Chi. Jeff Alexander, "rules for 25 Feb. 2004", 26 Feb 2004 - Q: Hello everybody,
Got a couple of questions:
I have an Agasha Seruma in play, use Chuda Agent to drop her Chi to zero. She goes to the discard pile. I now use MGC to put her back onto my Shrine of Humilty. What happens if I bring her out?
1) What triggers first? Her Reaction, the Chi death or the bowing of Shrine of Humility?
A: She enters play bowed, then dies. She can't use her Reaction. Jeff Alexander, "rules for 25 Feb. 2004", 26 Feb 2004
