- Q: Another question for Jeff Zen and all those people we like, do you or any of the other MAJOR guys in L5R have respect for the ratling? Do you not like them, does the story team not like them is that why we dont have any special holding like: Crab Recruiter or Phoenix Library or any special item?
What's everyones problem with Ratling?
A: The Ratlings are a playable faction by player demand, but they simply do not have the pull in the Four Winds story arc to influence much, so giving them strength commensurate with what the Shadowlands and the Great Clans have could potentially put us in a spot where we'd have to take the story in a direction we don't want it to go because of high-profile tournament wins. Does it produce the Gold for every follower without the Cavalry trait, or only for the followers with the word "infantry" in their names.
A: "Infantry" is a well-defined game term, so the Keyword Rule is not used. Crab Recruiter produces 5 Gold for any Follower that does not have the Cavalry trait, since that's the definition of "infantry Follower". Jeff Alexander, "replies to 19 September 2001", 20 Sep 2001
