Rules Q&A
- Q: http://www.l5rsearch.com/db/search.cgi?cmd=detail&card_id=5960
When Daigotsu Kaikou attempts to transfer a follower to himself, does he have to check honour requirements before he attaches it to himself?
A: http://rules.l5r.com/Glossary_T#Transfer: "A player... does need to meet requirements and restrictions of attachment." Zen Faulkes, "Daigotsu Kaikou", 31 Aug 2008 - Q: Using the following texts:
L5R Rulebook- Transfer: To move an attached card from one Personality or Province to another. You do not need to pay the costs of the transferred card because it is not entering play. You still need to meet restrictions on the new attachment when you transfer.
Daigotsu Kaikou: Battle: Target an attachment opposing Kaikou. Transfer it to Kaikou or destroy it.
Koutetsu Chikara: Can only attach to a Unicorn Personality
Can Kaikou take the armor off of a random Unicorn Personality or would it merely be destroyed?
A: If you choose to transfer it, the transfer effect is negated because he is not a Unicorn Clan personality. Destruction is probably the more useful choice in that situation. Chris Fuchs, "Daigotsu Kaikou and Family Armors", 13 Aug 2007 - Q: Since (Daigotsu ) Kaikou's Battle ability doesn't attach the attachment (it only transfers it to him, and the follower is not entering play), can he can transfer followers with an Honor Requirement higher than his own personal honor?
A: No. Rules, Glossary, Transfer: "A player does not need to pay the card's costs when transferring it, but does need to meet requirements and restrictions of attachment." (Emphasis added. Fixed erroneous ruling.) Zen Faulkes, "Daigotsu Kaikou and moving followers", 11 Jul 2007 - Q: (H)e should be able to do the same with the various Clan Armors, right?
A: See announcements -- those are Samurai Edition cards. Zen Faulkes, "Daigotsu Kaikou and moving followers", 11 Jul 2007
