Rules Q&A
- Q: Does using the battle action on Dance of the Void count for Water? Even though the battle action comes from "you" instead of a card.
A: The action does not come from you; it comes from Dance of the Void.
"(E)ffects and actions come 'from'... the card where the thing in question is originally physically printed.
"Example: Your event card gives another player an ability. The action from that ability, and its effects, are 'from' your cards(.)"
So it counts. Zen Faulkes, "Dance of the Void and Water", 19 Jun 2011 - Q: Dance of the Void: If I have a monk at a battlefield may I target him as a non-additional action(?)
A: No. "If this action is taken as an additional action" is a condition for using the ability at all. See description of the constraints block: http://rules.l5r.com/CE_Card_features#Abilities Zen Faulkes, "Dance of the Void; cost", 24 Jul 2010 - Q: If I use the battle ability given to me from Dance of the Void and on my next action try to use (any) kiho where the cost is to bow, what happens?
A: Costs are not effects. A cost of bowing for a kiho is not affected by Dance of the Void. Zen Faulkes, "Dance of the Void and One with the Flame", 5 Jun 2010
