Rules Q&A
- Q: Interrupt the Void's Flow says: Void Interrupt: Negate a Battle action....
CR says NEGATE AN ACTION # To prevent all the action’s effects and targeting, from the time the negation is applied.
Since the targeting would be prevented. Would actions from Knife in the Darkness and Desperate Sacrifice simply fail and/or will not move any personality since there were no targets of the action?
A: The definition of Negate an action has changed: To prevent all the action’s effects, from the time the negation is applied. This does not negate targeting.
Interrupt the Void's Flow will not negate the movement from Knife in the Darkness. Alex Jones, "Interrupt the Void's Flow negation question", 1 Sep 2015 - Q: What happens if I target a personality with Oriole Imperial Vanguard with Desperate Sacrifice?
After the first time each phase a Political action targets this Personality, negate its remaining effects.
Political Battle: Destroy your target Courtier. Bow a target enemy Personality. Move him home. This movement will not be negated.
I undestand that the courtier gets destroyed, the personality does not bow, but it is send home. is this correct?
or does the negation of the effect also cancels the "will not move clause" ?
thanks
A: Yes, that is correct. "This movement will not be negated" overrides Oriole Imperial Vanguard's negating of the effects. Jon Palmer, "Oriole Imperial Vanguard versus Desperate Sacrifice", 17 Apr 2015
