Rules Q&A
- Q: Based on the slight difference in wording between these 2 cards(text below) I wanted to ask a quick clarification.
Akodo Dairuko: After you destroy an enemy card during battle (including resolution), gain 1 Honor.
Ichigo Sensei: After an enemy card is destroyed during a battle, if the destruction was not from another player's card effect, gain 1 Honor.
1)Based on the difference in wording of these 2, Ichigo sensei would gain honor for cards destroyed by the rulebook effect correct?
Aka opponent's personality has 2 follower attachments, you Come on at a time them and win.
With Dairuko you would gain 1 honor for the 1 card you destroyed, however with Ichigo Sensei you would gain 1 honor 3 times(1 for the card you destroyed, and 1 each for the followers destroyed by the rule book effect)
2) If your opponent killed their own personality in a battle(same situation 2 followers) or say you won their come on at a time duel. Dairuko would award you 1 honor for destroying the personality card(or none if they destroyed their own personality), while Ichigo sensei would award you 1 honor twice(1 for each follower, but would not award you honor for the personality as they were killed by another players card effect)
Thanks
A: Your statements are correct.
When a card effect destroys a Personality (eg via a duel, or with Zlkyt's Family + Okura is Released) rather than a unit (eg with Thoughtless Sacrifice), the attachments are destroyed by the rulebook. Thus, Ichigo Sensei's trait will give you honour for the attachments, but Akodo Dairuko's trait will not. Alex Jones, "Akodo Dairuko VS/and Ichigo", 27 Jul 2015 - Q: RE: viewtopic.php?f=59&t=114143
I'm sorry, but I'm having some trouble deciphering the actual answer to the question here. I realize the OP didn't quite get the effect of the Scorpion stronghold right, but I think the intent of the question was clear:
If I name Akodo Dairuko with the Scorpion stronghold, and my opponent attempts to use the Tactical Advantage ability from Dairuko, does my opponent have to discard a card? If yes, does Dairuko gain force?
A: Both the card discard and the force bonus are effects of an action from Dairuko, and so will be negated by The Shadowed Estate of the Scorpion. Alex Jones, "Scorpion Box and tactician", 15 Jun 2015 - Q: I want to prevent Tsuruchi (inexperienced) from shooting my Akodo Dairuko at 9F by using Turtle's Shell. He would need to burn all 5 Arrow tokens to make that shot. How is removing tokens not a cost? Ruling it is not a cost is both counter intuitive and rewards slow play. Turtle's Shell: Interrupt: Negate the action's Melee or Ranged Attacks. Relevant ability on Tsuruchi (inexperienced): Battle: Destroy zero or more Arrow tokens on Tsuruchi. Ranged Attack with strength equal to twice the number of tokens destroyed. You may use this action three times per turn. Comprehensive Rulebook: Interrupt actions are announced during a non-Interrupt action – either the Interrupt’s player’s or another player’s – at the point after costs are paid and before the action’s effects start to resolve. The other action is suspended while the Interrupt’s player goes through the sequence of steps in the Interrupt action; then it resumes. An Interrupt may not be played to another Interrupt action.
A: The only costs in Ivory are bowing and gold costs. Arrow tokens are neither of these, and therefore, they are removed as an effect.
Since The Turtle's Shell is played before you reach that point, Tsuruchi's controller can choose to remove zero tokens if he knows it's not going to have an effect anyway. Jon Palmer, "Tsuruchi (Inexperienced)", 30 Nov 2014 - Q: Hello.
Let's say Akodo Dairuko and Matsu Misato are at a battlefield. Both personalities are dishonored. Matsu Misato uses her Battle, Bow: Ranged 3 Attack with +1 strength for every 10 points of Family Honor you have - killing an opposing personality. One of the traits on Akodo Dairuko states: After you destroy an enemy card during battle (including resolution), gain 1 Honor. Per the rulebook: Before a player gains one or more points of Honor from an action or trait that targeted or came from one or more of his or her dishonorable Personalities. If rehonoring the Personalities is not one of that action or trait’s effects, the dishonorable Personalities' rehonoring is substituted (p. 57) for the Honor gain. Now, Matsu Misato performed the murdering but the trait is printed on Akodo Dairuko. Who is rehonored?
A: In the scenario you describe, only Dairuko would be rehonored.
The Honor gain is not a direct effect from Misato's action, only from Dairuko's trait. Brook Cunningham, "Akodo Dairuko and dishonored people", 21 Apr 2014 - Q: Relevant text:
The Perfect Moment: After the end of an Attack Phase in which you were the Defender: Create an additional Attack Phase with the previous phase's Attacker as the Defender. During this Attack Phase, you will not destroy more than one of the Defender's provinces and your Personalities may not assign and will not move unless they are Paragons or Battle Maidens.
Akodo Dairuko: Reaction: Even if Dairuko is bowed, before the resolution of a battle at her battlefield: Dairuko rallies her troops. That battle's resolution will not bow cards in your army.
Now if I Perfect Moment after an attack and use Dairuko's r at the end of the battle, am I able to TPM again and assign Dairuko again?
A: Indeed you may. Nothing prevents the interaction you describe. Brook Cunningham, "Perfect Moment and assigning twice", 4 Jul 2013
