Rules Q&A
- Q: As above I'm playing an Open Crane deck, this time with Akodo Kaneka.
A: My, you're going to be quite the unpopular one at the Winter Court at Kyuden Doji this year, huh? Martin Lund, "Rules for 14 April 2004", 15 Apr 2004 - Q: hello!
shogun's barrack goes:
"Political Reaction: Bow The Shogun's Barracks and discard the Imperial Favor when you refill a Province to refill it face-up. You need not discard the Favor if your Wind is Akodo Kaneka."
An event is revealed within my event phase,I use shogun's barrack to refill the province face up.
What happens if ANOTHER event is revealed? Does it resolve?
A: No, although it will next turn if it is still in that Province during your Events Phase. Each Province is only checked once for an Event resolving. Jeff Alexander, "rules for 4 March 2004", 5 Mar 2004 - Q: Do you have to have the Imperial Favor to use this action if your Wind is Akodo Kaneka?
A: No (card text). Zen Faulkes, "Rules for 15 November 2003", 15 Nov 2003 - Q: For cards such as Shogun's Barracks. Do you need to have control of the favor to use its ability?
Depends what wind you have.
I'm playing Akodo Kaneka. [D]o I have to control the favor in order to use its ability?
A: No. Zen Faulkes, "Rules for 24 August 2003", 24 Aug 2003 - Q: Maybe I'm just dense, but I don't think that answered my question. Though it does bring up a point I wish to argue in a moment.
My orginal question (what I meant to ask at any rate): If Vengeful Dead is turned up when used with Akodo Kaneka, will it *have* to go to the discard pile, or can you choose to reshuffle it into your Dynasty deck?
A: It must go into your discard pile. The option to reshuffle it is one of its effects. If it does not resolve, you don't get that choice. Jeff Alexander, "post for 15 January 2003", 16 Jan 2003 - Q: Hows does Akodo Kaneka Wind work with Regions? My guess is badly. ;-) Basically, if you replace the face up card with a Region does it immediately come into play, or does it just sit there and wait until your next Events Phase to come into play?
A: Regions enter play at the end of your Events Phase. That's it, barring specific card text to the contrary (like Regions of Rokugan). Regions turned face-up during your turn, by Kaneka or anything else, sit there face-up. You are free to discard them during your Dynasty Phase or to leave them there for them to enter play on your next turn. Jeff Alexander, "post for 5 October 2001", 6 Oct 2001
