Rules Q&A
- Q: Are the following card gold legal?
Evil Feeds Upon Itself Matsu Goemon Shiba Tsukune
All the cards were released in the Spirit Wars starters with gold bugs, however they are not listing in the gold legal cardlist on the Alderac website.
A: How long ago did you look? I just went to http://l5r.alderac.com/gold_checklist.html and found Goemon and Tsukune listed (but not Evil Feeds, which has had the Gold Edition bug removed by errata). Jeff Alexander, "post for 9 January 2002", 10 Jan 2002 - Q: any event that gives players the option to destroy one of their own provinces, even a small amount of information is a big deal. if I flip an Evil Feeds Upon Itself, and it's hitting me, and I don't yet know what's in my right-most province, the original rules would have me making the decision to use my Avoid Fate before I see what that card is. These rules would allow me to see it first.
Admittedly, it's probably an easy choice anyway, but having more information, if I know that card isn't Abandoning the Fortunes, I might be more inclined to just let it hit.
A: Ok, yeah, I'm still not following? Are you saying that the "Ivory wording" of old Events somehow makes them work differently? Insofar as revealing info? Or are you just talking generally, Ivory cards/Rules versus old? Brook Cunningham, "Sun and Moon #rules-questions", 10 Feb 2024
