Rules Q&A
- Q: Hi,
I wasn't sure if this was okay so I just wanted to check and be sure
1) I have used an "Extending Influence" and it is in my discard pile 2) I have Gyoken XP2 out and a Shugenja
Can I use Gyoken XP2 ability to re-attach Extending Influence from the discard pile to my Shugenja therefore allowing me to use it multiple times?
Also, Extending Influence can copy unique personalities abilities since it doesn't have any restrictions on the cards regarding that correct?
Cheers!
Extending Influence: After this card enters play, if this Shugenja is Air: Each other player loses 1 Honor. Open: Destroy this card and target a Personality: The performing Shugenja copies one of the target's abilities which does not copy abilities.
Daigotsu Gyoken: Battle/Open: Target your Personality and a non-Unique attachment in any player's discard pile: Attach it to the Personality, paying all costs and ignoring Honor Requirements. You may take an additional action appropriate to this phase.
A: You can reattach an Extending Influence that you've already used, but you can't use it again if it's one that you've used this turn, as the Extending Influence never went facedown and out of play.
It can certainly copy abilities on Unique cards however, except those that say they will not be copied. Jon Palmer, "Extending Influence + Gyoken XP2", 19 Jun 2013 - Q: If I use Extending Influence to copy a ability that causes an honor loss. Does Den of Iniquity stop the loss?
A: No. While Extending Influence allows the ability to be copied, the copied ability is considered on the Shugenja, and thus comes from that card and not from Extending Influence. (Glossary: From). Ben Higgins, "Extending Influence", 20 Jun 2012
