Rules Q&A
- Q: 3) As Commanding Favor counts as paying the cost of the favor is it actually considered a use of the favor for effects such as Far From the Empire and Confusion at Court?
A: Yes. That's why Confusion at Court worked against Kyuden Bayushi Gozoku, and why using Kyuden Bayushi's Reaction still triggered the "until" clause of Gozoku Sensei. Martin Lund, "Rules for 28 November 2004", 30 Nov 2004 - Q: If shrine of the Sun is used to stop [Far From the Empire], all the honor victory increase it has perminently created removed as well thus setting the the victory condition to normal?
A: Yes. Zen Faulkes, "Rules for 20 November 2003", 21 Nov 2003 - Q: If Far form the Empire has resolved and I have used the favor and then I use a Shrine of the Sun to end the effects of the Far from the Empire, do I now only need 40 honor to win through honor[?]
A: Yes (Rules Archive, General Rules, Effects; specific cards, Solar Eclipse).

Zen Faulkes, "Rules for 10 September 2003", 10 Sep 2003 - Q: Hello, I would like to know if when a shrine of the sun ends the effects of the event Far From the Empire the permanent change created by Far From the Empire of the honor requirement for victory is brought back to 40 or if its still on the new number? And if its the same things as ending the effects with Unexpected Strike.
Thank you very much.
A: 40. See Archive, General rules, Effects for a list of things that are not "ongoing efects." Zen Faulkes, "Far from the Empire / Shrine of the Sun", 3 Mar 2005
