Rules Q&A
- Q: Does imperial census have to account for cards like Firebird falls? Or does Firebird Falls considered "activated" during a player's dynasty phase much like the Price of War?
A: Firebird Falls affects Personalities only while they're entering play. Their costs return to normal once they're bought, and will be affected by Imperial Census more easily. Jeff Alexander, "post for 11 October 2002", 12 Oct 2002 - Q: In relation to Firebird Falls and The Price of War. When a player overlaps an exp personality with an exp 3 personality, does the player have to pay the added gold cost when paying for the difference when overlapping the personality? Or is this an exception?
A: For Firebird Falls, no, because the Exp3 version is not entering play. (Overlaying does not count as playing a card -- GE p. 36.) For The Price of War, all Personalities cost 2 more Gold, so both the Exp and Exp3 cost more and the difference between them will be the same. Jeff Alexander, "post for 11 October 2002", 12 Oct 2002
