• Q: I have Shiba Ningen Exp. with Teeth of Osano-Wo and Firestorm Legion. My question regard the Forestorm Legion, as both a follower and a shugenja with a ranged attack, does Doji Akiko's trait assist in the ranged attack for the Legion.
  A: No. She gives a bonus "for purposes of casting Spells and Kihos", not "while casting Spells and Kihos". Ningen's Chi is not elevated for any other purpose. Jeff Alexander, "post for 23 September 2002", 25 Sep 2002
• Q: Will Ambush Strategist give the force bonus to Ikiryo(follower) and Firestorm Legion. Both of their range attacks are based off their personalities chi's. But is this variable, because the personalities chi is set, unless it is changed.
  A: At any given time it's known how strong their attacks are. Ambush Strategist only has trouble giving non-0 bonuses to cards where their ranged attack strength isn't known until it's made. Jeff Alexander, "post for 21 January 2002", 22 Jan 2002
• Q: Is this personality a Fire card?
  I assume so since we classify spells as an element based on their ability's keywords, and Firestorm Legion had a Fire battle abilit .
  A: Firestorm Legion is a Follower, not a Personality. See p36-37 of the Ivory Edition basic rulebook, available online here.

• Q: Firestorm Legion is a Shugenja Follower. I cannot attach spells, and thus cannot "cast spells." But no mention is made as to whether it can participate in Rituals like Sleep. Can Firestorm Legion bow to show another card from sleep?
  Also, can School of Wizardry's trait be used on Firestorm Legion to reduce it's gold cost to 0?
  A: Yes, Firestorm Legion is a legal target for Sleep. Its inability to "cast" Spells in the reminder text is not a reference to a rule specifically prohibiting Followers from casting, but just a general reminder of normal circumstances (such as, should a Firestorm Legion be in a unit led by a Shugenja, any "this Shugenja" text on any Spells in said unit are referring to the Personality).
