- Toshimoko staggered into the temple, leaving a trail of blood behind him. "I will follow where you failed, Master," Rekai swore. "Follow," Toshimoko shuddered, "but do not walk where I fell."

Rulings
- Q: Is it really possible to have two Sensei on one Stronghold? A: Yes. If you play Forgotten Lesson, your original Sensei "does not affect play," which means you pretend it isn't even there. You can legally play A New Teacher while Forgotten Lesson is in effect. After Forgotten Lesson wears off, voila! Two Sensei on one Stronghold. Note, however, that you can't put a second Sensei on this way using the Stronghold ability of Temples of the Crow. In that case, discarding the Sensei is a cost of putting the new one on. Rules Q&A
- Q: Just a (not so) "quick snap" question, how can one use Forgotten Lesson to achieve an honor victory prevented by Kaede Sensei or Shoju Sensei? Say that I am at 54 honor at the start of my opponent's turn, and he has used Shoju Sensei to prevent an honor victory. I would achieve an honor victory if the Sensei's ability was prevented at the start of my events phase correct? And an Open action that lasts until the end of the turn can never have effect during the events phase right? So how does this work?
A: Forgotten Lesson says, "Open: Target a sensei card. The card does not affect play until the end of the turn."
It will expire at the end of the turn it is played. It won't be in effect at the beginning of the next turn, so you can't use it to sneak in an honor-victory.
Just get yourself a copy of Dashmar nonexp. if you want to win due to having high honor and still play Kaede Sensei. :) Martin Lund, "Rules for 14 May 2004", 17 May 2004 - Q: I'd assume it'd be legal to negate someone else's Kozue for a turn using Forgotten Lesson? Or trade your starting Sensei for a bird using the Temples of the Crow ability? Or to use Temples to discard Kozue to play a second Sensei on your stronghold?
A: When a game term already has a definition, you don't use keywords. The Gold Edition rulebook even lists "Sensei" on page 33 as one example of an instance in which keywords don't apply. References to Sensei only work with cards that match the type displayed on page 8. Jeff Alexander, "post for 7 Oct. 2002", 8 Oct 2002 - Q: Suppose my opponent uses the Hantei Sensei and names my Celestial Sword of the Mantis.
Later in the game I pull Forgotten Lesson and I make his Sensei not effect play until the end of my turn. I go ahead and attach my Celestial Sword of the Mantis.
What happens to my sword when Forgotten Lesson wear's off?
A: Nothing. Hantei Sensei only prevents playing the card. Jeff Alexander, "post for 29 April 2002", 30 Apr 2002 - Q: Suppose my opponent uses the Hantei Sensei and names my Celestial Sword of the Mantis. Later in the game I pull Forgotten Lesson and I make his Sensei not effect play until the end of my turn. I go ahead and attach my Celestial Sword of the Mantis. What happens to my sword when Forgotten Lesson wear's off?
A: That's a "Triple A" question: "Asked. Answered. Archived."
Under Hantei Sensei: "Its ability does not affect cards already in play. [DW]" Zen Faulkes, "Rules for 28 April 2002", 28 Apr 2002 - Q: Can you Amnesia or Forgotten Lesson a Sensei no longer attached to a Stronghold?
A: No. These cards, like most cards, can only target something in play. Jeff Alexander, "Rulings for 19 February 2001", 24 Feb 2001
