- If ability is used on a Personality who cannot join you, he or she will not switch armies because an uninvited unit cannot join your army. [JA, 8 June 2004] Rules Archive, August 18, 2007, p. 98
Rules Q&A
- Q: 1. Is Glassblower considered to be a gold producing Holding?
A: Yes. It produces Gold and it is a Holding. (Diamond Edition Rulebook, page 100, "Glossary: Gold-producing") Martin Lund, "Rules for 24 January 2005", 31 Jan 2005 - Q: 3. Can Fushin steal dishonored Loyal guys?
A: I don't see any text on Fushin that allows his ability to ignore the Loyal restrictions for controlling a card, if that's what you are asking. Martin Lund, "Rules for 24 January 2005", 31 Jan 2005 - Q: Does Fushin have to be in the current battle to use his ability? In more general terms, does "this army" require the card to be there, as "this battle" does?
A: With no other references, "this army" would be the army Fushin is in. Fushin must be in an Army to use his ability. Martin Lund, "Rules for 8 September 2004", 10 Sep 2004 - Q: Well, is the following legal : I have a dishonnored personality at home (the peep is mine). I have fushin at the current battle. I use the action of fushin on my own dishonnored peep. The "taking control" part gets negated since it is already mine. But the peep is moved into my army.
A: Sure. No problem with it. Martin Lund, "Rules for 28 May 2004", 1 Jun 2004 - Q: I declare an attack, and Enko, during the infantry assignment phase, is assigned to defend province (a). Since I'm sneaky, I assign Fushin, during the cavalry assignment phase, to province (b). If I resolve the battle at province (b), and then use Fushin to 'take control' of Hida Enko, can he then react with the movement negation ability of the Right Hand of the Emperor in this situation? Does the change of control occur before the movement, meaning that my control of her nullifies my opponents', and thus making her an illegal target? (She's not his anymore)
A: See! All Fushin does is ruin my life!
I'm going to catch that lousy little onisu and rip off all 4 of his arms and beat his stupid looking face in with the bloody stumps! >:(
... um ... and in other news I'm forwarding this to Jeff. Martin Lund, "Rules for 26 April 2004", 29 Apr 2004 - Q: Other players' Personalities who moved into your army
this should be into this battle, or it means that it only works with fushin...
but Fushin makes the personality "yours" before move it, so that doesnt work neither.
A: It works fine. It affects allies in multiplayer. Zen Faulkes, "Strategic crossroad errata.", 12 Mar 2005 - Q: personality X is dishonored and targeted by Fushin's ability. can it's controller respond with Right Hand's movement negation? it was argued in my area that he can't since he no longer controlled the personality.
A: No, for the reason mentioned. Zen Faulkes, "Fushin vs Right Hand", 5 Mar 2005 - Q: on the card it says "this army" in regards to grabbing someone. Does that refer to the army that Fushin is in[?]
A: Yes, it does. Zen Faulkes, "Fushin", 5 Feb 2005
