Rules Q&A
- Q: I've searched the forum, and haven't found this question, so I feel the need to ask. Who gains/loses the honor with the card Games of Court? Do all players gain/lose the honor? Interesting mechanic if that is the case.
This is a previous ruling, but doesn't seem to be relevant to my question.
Games of Court Political • Unique Limited: Each player chooses a card in his hand. Show all chosen cards. If the base Focus Value of a player’s card is different from each other chosen card’s base Focus Value, he gains Honor equal to his card’s Focus Value; otherwise, he loses Honor equal to his card’s Focus Value.
A: Both players either gain honor equal to the base focus value shown on their separate cards.
For example:
Player A shows Refugees, Player B shows Determination. Player A gains 2 honor, Player B gains 4 honor.
Kyuden Kyotei Player A buffs his Determination using his Stronghold's ability, and shows it. Player B shows Retribution. Player A loses 5 honor, Player B loses 4 honor.
If Player A hadn't used Kyuden Kyotei's Reaction, then he would have lost 4 honor. Dan Jacobson, "Games of Court", 12 Apr 2009
