Rules Q&A
- Q: When a Terrain card is played can it only be "replaced" by using an effect that *destroys* Terrain (Go Master, for example)?
A: Effects that replace terrains also destroy the one in play. Terrains can also be destroyed without being replaced. Zen Faulkes, "Rules for 2-7 August 2001", 9 Aug 2001 - Q: I am confused about go master because many terrain cards seem to have the innate ability to destroy a present terrain anyways 🤔
A: When Go Master was printed and legal, that was not the case.
There were roughly 10 legality arcs/blocks over the 20 years that the game was officially produced; new Terrains innately destroying the previous one was only the paradigm in the final 2-3 arcs, and Go Master was only printed during the very first 3.
