Rules Q&A

• Q: Can the gold producing traits on Fortified Camp and Castle Barracks pay for Hida Dayu's ability? Will the Reaction on Fortified Camp 'save' a Follower created by Hida Dayu's ability?
Hida Dayu Limited: Pay 3 Gold: Create a 2F Follower card and attach it to one of your target Crab Clan Hero Personalities.
Fortified Camp Bow this card: Produce 2 Gold, or produce 3 Gold if paying for an attachment. Reaction: After another player’s action destroys one of your attachment cards or it’s Personality: Attach the card to one of your target Personalities (paying all costs).
Castle Barracks Bow this card: Produce 2 Gold, or 3 Gold when paying for a Follower.
Thanks for your continued help and patience!
A: No and no. Paying for an action that creates a follower is not the same as paying for an attachment.
Created cards only exist in play, and are removed from the game if they ever leave play. ( http://rules.l5r.com/Card_features#Created_cards ) Chris Fuchs, "Hida Dayu and Fortied Camp/Castle Barracks", 25 Aug 2007
• Q: Simple question, are the followers created by Matsu Benika cards or tokens? If they are tokens she does not get a force bonus in SE right? The question came up, because e.g. Hida Dayu says he creates follower cards specifically, while Benika does not, and we could not find anything in the rulebook about this.
  Matsu Benika
Limited: Pay 2 Gold: Target 1 or 2 of your Personalities. Create and attach a 1F Nonhuman, Cat Follower to each one.
