Rules Q&A
- Q: Can you attach Strategic Assassin to Hida Katai as a battle action?

Strategic Assassin: "Will only attach to a Samurai, Bushi, or Ninja. Will attach to a Scorpian Clan or Ninja Personality regardless of Personal Honor. You may attach Strategic Assassin from your hand as a Battle action."
Hida Katai: "Once per turn, you may attach a Follower to Katai from your discard pile as if it were in your hand."
A: Well, when applying Katai's trait, the answer to "Is that card coming from your hand?" is "Yes." That means you could attach Strategic Assassins from the Discard Pile to Hida Katai once per turn. Martin Lund, "Rules for 30 April 2004", 3 May 2004 - Q: If I retrive The Legion of Two Thousand(TLOTT) using Hida Katai do I get to search for a follower from my fate deck and add to my hand? Does this work each time TLOTT goes to the discard pile and is retieved by Hida Katai?
A: Yes and yes. You are playing The Legion of Two Thousand. Jeff Alexander, "rules for 2-3 March 2004", 4 Mar 2004 - Q: Hida Katai's ability states
Crab Clan Samurai € Yu 2 Once per turn, you may attach a Follower to Katai from your discard pile as if it were in your hand.
Can I do this in both my turn and my opponent's turn?
A: Yes. However, Katai does not give you any actual method of attaching a Follower to him. Once per turn, he allows some other card or game effect that puts a Follower onto him from your hand to use (a dead or discarded) one from your discard pile instead.
