Rules Q&A
- Q: Hi, sorry if this has been answered but I couldn't find anything on it so far:
If I have Shibata Sensei can I bow any of my courtiers instead of discarding the Favor for Kozan's open action?
A: Yes, you may. Shibata Sensei allows you to bow to pay the Favor cost for Favor actions, and Kozan's ability is a Favor action. Jon Palmer, "Hida Kozan + Shibata Sensei", 23 Jun 2015 - Q: Does Hida Kozan's 3x personal honor lobby bonus check when another player's lobbies for the favor?
A: Yes.
See Lobby Bonus: When a player’s Family Honor is checked during any Lobby action (the player’s own, or another player’s), it is considered to be higher by the amount of any Lobby Bonus in effect on the player. This is not an Honor gain. Alex Jones, "Hida Kozan and his Lobby bonus", 13 Feb 2015 - Q: Does Hida Kozan work the same way as the crane SH which has them considered to be +5 honor at all times when either player is lobbying, or does his PH bonus only apply when he lobbies. Can i stop a player with strictly higher family honor from lobbying for the favor if mine is greater when taking into account his lobby bonus?
Kozan's trait : Kozan enters play for 1 less Gold if your Allegiance is Traditionalist. Kozan need not bow to Lobby. After you Recruit Kozan, take the Imperial Favor. You have a Lobby Bonus of three times Kozan's Personal Honor.
A: Kozan's trait is active when any player is lobbying, using any Personality. Jon Palmer, "lobby bonus vs lobby checking family honor", 27 Oct 2014 - Q: Ok, so based on what Zen told me on this previous topic ( viewtopic.php?f=59&t=62464 ) the tokens come from a card efect that's why they'll be denied on Hida Sozen Exp case.
A: Minor correction: They must be from an action for Sozen to be immune to destruction.
Tokens could trigger Hida Kozan's reaction. Tokens are card effects. Chi penalties from tokens are card effects. Destruction from a chi penalty from a token is a card effect. Zen Faulkes, "Hida Kozan and chi penalty", 11 Oct 2007 - Q: Specifically, Hida Kozan / Hida Tsuburu's reactions.
If they
1)are removed from the discard pile
2)overlay a personality in the current battle
3)re-enter play in the attacking or defending army
before the end of the combat segment they were destroyed in, do they still contribute force to their owner's army?
A: The question to ask is, "Are they dead?", not, "Did they die?" If yes, they contribute force. If not, they don't. Zen Faulkes, "Crab "contributes to army force while dead"", 25 Jun 2007
