Rules Q&A
- Q: I know this has been asked... But when does Hida Utaemon become tourney legal?
A: 30 days after the first full set to come out after it, which will be The Fall of Otosan Uchi. Jeff Alexander, "post for 28 October 2002", 29 Oct 2002 - Q: This is the promo for Season of the Crab.
Some people already have it in French, even if the English is not yet shipped (a per previous Jeff Alexander mail). When will this card be legal for tournaments?
A: The same time any promo becomes legal: at the same the very next set after the promo -- in this case, The Fall of Otosan Uchi -- becomes legal. Jeff Alexander, "post for 15 October 2002", 16 Oct 2002 - Q: Does someone knows what exactly comes in the Season of the Crab set?
How many Hida Utaemon? A foil one?
A: I believe it's going to have 20 normal Hida Utaemon and 1 foil Celestial Sword of the Crab. Jeff Alexander, "post for 1 October 2002", 2 Oct 2002 - Q: In reference to this, Hida Utaemon asked : "If i wedge hida yaheiko, can she negate the destruction of wedge?" and he was answered "Yes - unless they've changed the wording on Wedge since I last checked. Destruction due to Wedge is a 'card effect' and would be a valid trigger for her ability."
Just to be sure: if I read the comprehensive rules correctly, assuming no other card is played and no other effect takes place, isn't Hida Yaheiko normally bowed when Wedge destroys her, which prevents her from using her reaction to negate her destruction ?
A: She'll be bowed if attacking, but not if defending. Zen Faulkes, "Re: Hida Yaheiko and Wedge", 9 Jul 2007
