Rules Q&A
- Q: I need a clarification for this.
After Hida Yiu enters play, can I react first with A Simple Yari to attach it to him and then react with his ability to bow someone with less than 8F? I think it is possible as I choose the order the reactions are triggered but I need a confirmation.
Thanks.
Hida Yiu 5F/1C Reaction: After Yiu enters play: Bow a target Personality with lower Force. Until that Personality leaves play, his next straightening will be negated.
A Simple Yari +3/+0 Reaction: After one of your Personalities enters play: Attach this card to him, paying all costs.
A: Both Reactions trigger off the same effect, so you may indeed choose the order in which to take them. Alex Jones, "A Simple Yari Timing", 27 Sep 2011 - Q: 2)yiu comes in during dynasty and bows someone with lower force. His reaction will last until it negates a straighten then it will end. in other words yiu can take away 1 straightening phase/straightening for 1 enemy 1 time only.(this means yiu is useful).
A: This is the most correct one, but not exactly right.
The duration of the effect is until the targeted Personality leaves play, so it doesn't just last until the end of the turn. Now, the effect is to negate the targets NEXT straightening. Which means only the next one after Yiu does his reaction will be negated, so the effect is only negating whichever 1 straightening that's next and then it's done negating anything..
