Rules Q&A
- Q: He attempted to overlay Doji reju exp2 Hitomi Reju, over his non exp Doji Reju Paying all cost and such. The Doji Reju exp 2 is a more exp verson of "Hitomi Reju". So, is this a legal move?
A: Yes. Hitomi Reju has the "Experienced Doji Reju" trait. It can be confusing when a character changes names in the story, because sometimes the "Experienced" trait uses the previous name rather than consistently using the name on the non-Experienced Personality. If you can trace back to the non-Experienced Personality, different names in the "Experienced" trait don't matter for overlaying purposes. Zen Faulkes, "Rules for 10 April 2003", 11 Apr 2003 - Q: Okay, stop. The archive entry is not for the Experienced version of Hitomi Reju. That ruling does not necessarily apply to that version.
Granted, although the only difference between the wording of the traits is "Whenever" instead of "If",
A: That's why I said "necessarily". All I had seen at that point was that a ruling for a different version of Reju was being used. I didn't yet know how similar they were or whether it would apply anyway. I DID know that we'd had a lot of problems with experience level confusion like this with Hoshi Wayan in the past, to the point where I've asked Zen to clearly relable the Archives, and I wanted to caution people about avoiding that mistake.
